What this site collects
The site has no user accounts, contact forms, newsletter, payments, or advertising. You do not directly submit personal information here.
As with any website, hosting and network providers receive technical request information needed to deliver and secure the site. This can include an IP address, request time, requested page, browser headers, and security signals. Those providers handle operational logs under their own retention and security policies.
Privacy-focused analytics
This site uses the standard Umami Cloud tracker, operated by Umami Software, Inc. Umami describes its analytics as cookieless, anonymous, and without cross-site tracking. The tracker is restricted to wbigosinski.com, ignores URL search parameters and fragments, and respects the browser's Do Not Track setting.
The resulting statistics can include:
- Page views, referral source, visit timing, and approximate country.
- Browser, operating system, device category, screen size, and language.
- Core Web Vitals and other page-performance measurements.
- Fixed interaction events: main call-to-action clicks, LinkedIn and GitHub clicks, theme changes, first views of page sections, and 25/50/75/100% scroll-depth milestones.
No session replay, heatmaps, mouse-movement recording, keystroke capture, advertising profiles, distinct user IDs, or event properties containing text entered by a visitor.
These statistics are used only to understand which content is useful and to improve usability and performance. They are not used for advertising, sale of data, or automated decisions. Where the GDPR applies and the processing qualifies as personal data, the legal basis is legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f): maintaining and improving this site with a deliberately minimized analytics setup.
Cookies and browser storage
The site sets no cookies. Umami analytics does not use cookies or persistent identifiers in your browser.
One functional preference is stored locally on your device: whether you selected light or dark mode. That value stays in your browser's local storage and is not sent to Umami.
Service providers and retention
Umami Cloud processes the anonymous analytics described above. Analytics data is retained according to the active Umami Cloud plan and then removed under Umami's retention practices. You can read the Umami Privacy Policy.
The site is hosted through OpenAI Sites and delivered using cloud and network infrastructure that may include Cloudflare. Those services may process technical request and security data needed to host, protect, and reliably deliver the site. Their practices are described in the OpenAI Privacy Policy and Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
Links to LinkedIn, GitHub, and other external websites are governed by those sites' own privacy policies after you leave this site.
Your choices and rights
You can enable Do Not Track in your browser to prevent the Umami tracker from collecting analytics on this site. Browser extensions that block analytics scripts will also prevent it from loading.
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal data. Because this site's analytics are designed not to identify visitors, it may not be possible to connect an anonymous analytics record to a specific person.
Contact me first through LinkedIn with a privacy request. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. In Poland, that is the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO).
